IPv6 Addressing

Hex to Binary conversion

The chart below shows how you can easily convert hex to binary and binary to hex;

 

IPv6 Address 

IPv6 uses 32 hexadecimal numbers
The 32 hex digits are organized into 8 quartets of 4 hex digits
Each hex digit represents 4 bits, separted by a colon which is used to represent a 128 bit IPv6 address.

 

 

EUI Addressing

This is when you configure a device to use its MAC address to build its IPv6 address.
