ROUTE: EIGRP configuration, Bandwidth, and Adjacencies

Topology

Objectives

  • Configure EIGRP
  • Configure EIGRP bandwidth metric
  • Verify EIGRP adjacencies
  • Verify EIGRP routing
  • Use debugging commands for troubleshooting EIGRP

Configure EIGRP bandwidth metric

I have configured the serial links on R1 and R2 with the EIGRP bandwidth 64 command under the serial interfaces. You can verfiy the bandwidth speed with the following command;

Verify EIGRP

R1

Verify routing

We can check what path R1 will take to reach R2's loopback by doing the following;

You can see that it avoids the slower serial link and goes out its Fa0/0 interface. You can see this when viewing the EIGRP toplogy and the routing table.

Using EIGRP debugging

You can quicky find EIGRP problems by using the debugging command;
